Welcome to the SA-CASC

The Southern Africa Cisco Academy Support Centre (SACASC) is a centre supporting Cisco academy activities in the Southern Africa region. It is an entity in the faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and IT (EBEIT) and operates as a unit in the School of ICT. While the Cisco academy programme at the university started in 2000, the institution only started playing a more senior role from 2006 when it was appointed by Cisco Systems as a Cisco Academy Training Centre for Sub-Saharan Africa. This role evolved into an Instructor Training Centre and Academy Support Centre in 2012. As an Instructor Training Centre, the unit runs train-the-trainer programmes for the academies in Southern Africa and, occasionally, those in the wider Sub Saharan Africa region. As a Cisco Academy Support Centre, the unit provides programme and technical support to the academies in its ambit. At the moment the SACASC is responsible for academies in the following countries:
